One thing I appreciated about this book was how detailed and well-researched all the events were. This is a touching novel with themes that can still apply today even though it is set in WWII. This book follows the challenges they all faced during the war in France from 1939 to 1945. Meanwhile, Isabelle joined the resistance after Gäetan betrayed her. Vianne has to cope with Antoine fighting for the French Resistance while separated from her husband for years. The Nightingale tells the stories of two soldiers and their wives, Vianne, and Mathilde Mauriac, respectively. The story centers around two sisters who are both going through their own experiences with the war and how it changes them. This book is a personal account of a woman’s experience in WWII France. * As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. 5/10/2023 0 Comments Christopher clark prussiaThis is free download Iron Kingdom: The Rise and Downfall of Prussia, 1600–1947 by Christopher Clark complete book soft copy. It’s like “The Big Chill,” except everyone dies. Nell (Keira Knightley) and her husband, Simon (Matthew Goode), host one last Christmas party for a group of their school friends. The British government has issued euthanasia pills to (almost) everyone so they can die with less pain. Poisonous storms sweep the landscape, and everyone caught in them dies in hideous agony. “Silent Night” is set in a near future in which the earth has experienced massive environmental collapse. The true horror is not that all the social rules crumble in the face of bloody catastrophe. As a result, her brilliant new end-of-the-world comedy, “Silent Night,” is more genuinely bleak than most zombie apocalypses. Director Camille Griffin understands that watching someone get their face torn off is often less upsetting than watching someone socially faceplant. 5/10/2023 0 Comments The Dark House by A.C. WiseDuring the early 18th century defensive works, known as ‘Dock Lines’ were built outside the dockyard walls, encircling them and enclosing an area of housing to the north and Mount Wise to the south.
